My Favourite My Little Pony Quotes

[Fluttershy]: You have found your pet and it's not a squirrel! Shall we sing about it again?

[Pinkie Pie]: Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!

[Pinkamena]: Oui, that is correct madame.

[Fluttershy]: Here comes the choo choo train!

[Pinkie Pie]: Okey dokey lokey...

[Pinkie Pie]: So I said: "Oatmeal, are you CRAZ-"

[Pinkie Pie]: Eternal chaos comes with chocolate rain, you guys. CHOCOLATE RAIN!

[Fluttershy]: You're going to LOVE ME!

[Fluttershy]: You rock, Rainbow Dash. Woohoo.

[Derpy Hooves]: Muffins...

[Steven Magnet]: My moustache!

[Discord]: I'm missing some excellent chaos here.

[Photo Finish]: It's time to make...THE MAGICS.

[Photo Finish]: Even cher schneezes are graceful.

[Princess Luna]: Huzzah! How many points do I receive?

[Apple Bloom]: BUT I WANT IT NOW!

[Spike]: Another donut. Extra sprinkles.

[Apple Bloom]: Aren't you gonna stay for brunch?

[Applejack]: Don't you use your fancy mathematics to mutter the issue!

[Applejack]: Soup's on everypony!

[Rarity]: I am not whining, I am complaining. Do you want to hear whining? THIIIIIS IS WHINING.

[Rarity]: BUT I THOUGHT YOU WANTED WHINING!

[Rarity]: I have searched high and I have searched low. Low and high. High and low.

[Rarity]: Of all the things that could happen, this is THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING.

[Fluttershy]: I am so frustrated, I could just scream!

[Fluttershy]: Pretty please.

No Fast Food Anymore...

Today will be the last day at a fast food restaurant for me. I have decided that from 2012 on, I will no longer go to fast food restaurants. I will keep on eating unhealthy, though, because I only choose not to eat at multinationals.
I have been thinking about this for a long time now. I haven't been going to fast food restaurants as regularly as I used to since I became a vegetarian four years ago, and it has always struck me as a bit weird that I didn't eat meat, but I kept buying their vegetarian food.
So now you know.

I hope you all have a great time on New Year's Eve tonight!

I have googled the name HipsterForce, and I found out that it is already the name of a brand of underwear and the name of a kind of famous YouTuber. Because of this, my screen name will now be:

Frankenweenie (1984) Review

IMDb Rating: 7.2
Rotten Tomatoes Rating:
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Tim Burton, Shelley Duvall, Sofia Coppola
Genre: Fantasy

I was so glad that I could see this. The one film that started Burton's career. If you are a Burton fan like me (or a fan of darker expressionism in general) , you really can't miss out on this short. It has an eerie darkness over it, but it's still funny.

The special effects were certainly better than I remember and the person who wrote the screenplay (was it Rowling herself? I don't know) certainly knows how to write. I especially loved the scene where the main trio is running across the battleground and the music's a bit soft so you only hear the sounds of destruction, and you can see that it is all just too much and they simply can't handle it.
Also, Snape's scene was very touching as well of course, but I needn't tell you, I think.

Batman Forever Review

IMDb Rating: 5.4
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 44%
Notable Cast/Crew: Val Kilmer, Tommy Lee Jones, Tim Burton, Nicole Kidman, Danny Elfman, Michael Gough, Jim Carrey, Joel Schumacher, Chris O'Donnel, Drew Barrymore,
Genre: Superhero, Action

After reading the film version of the book (Confusing, I know), I thought this would be a great story. It is, in some ways, but in a lot of ways it is also definitely rubbish. The story is actually pretty great and focuses on the psychic problems that Batman has, but they didn't really work that out in the movie. Also, the dialogues consist mainly of one-liners, which is really fun to read, but spoken they sound forced and fake.

Edward Nygma, a child prodigy, has always looked up to Bruce Wayne and tries to show him his new brain-wave technology. After he gets rejected, he goes mental and uses his brain-wave thingy to look into the brains of others.
Dr. Chase Meridian, a psychiatrist if I'm right, is very interested in Batman and his scarred psyche. She falls in love with him and at the same time falls in love with Bruce Wayne, not knowing that they are the same person.
Two-Face doesn't have a big role, he is just being Two-Face.
Robin saves the circus of a bomb, placed by Two-Face, but watches his parents and brother being killed by Two-Face's henchmen. After being convinced by Batman (he finds out that Batman=Bruce Wayne) that killing Two-Face isn't the right thing to do, he becomes Batman's protegé.
__________________________
If you only look at the story, I think this is the best Batman film of the Burton trio. Real comic fans shouldn't see it, though, because there are a few things that aren't the same in the movie as in the comics.

Top 2000 Is Awesome

In The Netherlands we have this thing called the Top 2000. It's a list consisting of 2000 songs, and in November people can vote on their all-time favourite song. That means that it's not new songs or pop songs, but there is a lot of classic rock, jazz and rock 'n roll. In December, from noon on Christmas day until midnight on New Year's Eve, they play that whole list.
Almost everybody listens to it, partly because it's chock-full of awesome music and because it's some sort of tradition.
Also, the top three is almost always the same:

3. Avonden - Boudewijn de Groot (A Dutch artist, that's why he has a weird name)

2. Hotel California - The Eagles

1. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

The numbers two and three can shift sometimes, but it is really uncommon that Queen isn't number one.

This is the third time I've seen it, and it just keeps getting better. It's funny, touching, the visuals are AMAZING and the acting is great.
Definitely one of my favourites.

SPOILERSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS

The story is about a guy whose father is dying. Since he's always had the feeling he doesn't know his father, he tries to talk him into telling the 'real' story of his past. The original story, featuring werewolfs, giants and witches is told throughout the main story and takes up most of the time.
In the end, the son learns that his father didn't always tell the truth, but his stories were certainly based on things that really happened. The story was just exaggerated to make it more entertaining.

Though this entire movie is great, I need a special shoutout to the scene with Jenny Hill. She has always been in love with Edward (main character), and she tries to kiss him, but he doesn't love her. That sounds like your average rejection scene, but it is certainly not. The acting is really subtle, but that just emphasizes the feeling of the scene.

Batman Returns Review

IMDb Rating: 6.9
Rotten Tomatoes: 79%
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Michael Keaton, Tim Burton, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Michael Gough, Danny Elfman
Genre: Superhero, Action, Crime

Even though I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped to, it is still a great movie. Tim Burton had a lot more influence on the visuals than in Batman and I thought the costumes were beautiful. It is, however, not as awesome as Batman Begins, because there is a lack of plot.

[Donna Noble]: You fought her off with a water pistol. I bloody love you!

[The Doctor]: Oh, I'm always all right.
[Donna Noble]: Is "All right" special time-lord code for... not really all right at all?
[The Doctor]: Why?
[Donna Noble]: Because I'm alright too.

[Amy Pond]: You look human.
[The Doctor]: No, you look Timelord. We came first.

[Liz 10]: What are you doing?
[The Doctor]: [Adjusting machinery] The worst thing I'll ever do. I'm going to pass a massive electrical charge through the Star Whale's brain - should knock out its higher functions, leaving it a vegetable. The ship will still fly, but the whale won't feel it.
[Amy Pond]: That'll be like killing it.
[The Doctor]: Look, three options: One, I let the Star Whale continue, in unendurable agony for hundreds more years; Two, I kill everyone on this ship; Three, I murder a beautiful, innocent creature as painlessly as I can. And then, I... I find a new name, because I won't be The Doctor anymore.
[Liz 10]: There must be something we can do, there must be another way...
[The Doctor]: Nobody talk to me. Nobody
[violently slams hand down on console]
[The Doctor]: *HUMAN* has anything to say to me today!

[Amy Pond]: What if you were really old, and really kind and lonely, your whole race dead. What couldn't you do then? If you were that old, and that kind, and the very last of your kind, you couldn't just stand there and watch children cry.

[Amy]: Hey... Paisley. Ever fancied someone you know you shouldn't?

Great Family Dinner Quote

Last week my family held their annual Christmas dinner (a whole week before Christmas!). Batman Begins Review

IMDb Rating: 8.3
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 85%
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman, Linus Roache
Genre: Action, Superhero

This is the best Batman movie I've seen so far. Literally, that doesn't mean a lot, since I've only watched three Batman movies. But for the sake of this review, let's pretend I know a lot about Batman and I know a lot about films.

NO SPOILERS THIS TIME BECAUSE I'M TOO LAZY TO WRITE DOWN THE WHOLE STORY AND WHY THE HELL DO I WRITE THIS IN CAPS LOCK?

This is the origin story of Batman. How his character has evolved since his parents' death and how he became interested in fighting crime. It is actually through this film that I became interested in background stories of people, and I became interested in Batman.
Since it was a long time ago that I'd watched it, I decided to watch it again.
The best things about this film:
1. The visual stuff. It's so beautiful. There's one scene where there is a giant flock of bats flying around, and you almost cannot see that it's CGI'd. So I thought that they had just trained a lot of bats to fly in certain ways...HERPADERPADERP
2. The acting/casting. Especially Cillian Murphy. He has the perfect just-a-little-too-fragile-but-still-intimidating look for Scarecrow.
3. The stroy. Though there are a few flaws (Batman leaving someone to die is OK, but he does think that his parents' death was his fault...WHAT?) it is still a beautiful story.

30DHPC Day Thirty

Wow, time sure flies when you're having fun. Today is the final day of the Harry Potter Challenge.

What affect has Harry Potter made on your life and how much does it mean to you?

-First of all, I think he means effect, instead of affect. Second of all: it has made a huge impact on me. It is partly because of Harry Potter that I got interested in British cinema (or just cinema, for that matter) and British literature. It means a lot to me.

From tomorrow onward I will post the MLP:FIM Challenge! Looking forward to it!

-HipsterForce

Shows I Really Have To Watch

1. Sherlock. Any show with an actor named Benedict Cumberbatch is worth watching.

2. Arrested Development. Don't know why people think it is awesome, but I want to find out!

3. Torchwood. Because of Doctor Who.

4. Naruto.

5. Shugo Chara! Because of reasons.

6. Invader ZIM. It's a cult show, so it's probably epic.

2. I bite my nails.

4. I can only talk about one thing, so I often repeat myself.

30DHPC Day Twenty-Nine

Did you enjoy A Very Potter Musical?

-I am sad to inform you that I haven't watched it yet. I always seem to forget to, though I really do want to see it. I'll hope I'll get around to it this weekend.

Songs Glee Made Worse Or Bettah

as I have said before, I do watch Glee. Not because the plot is interesting (after season one it was rubbish) but because they really do improve some songs. However, they fail epicly as well. Here's a list:

Better (in my opinion)
1. Every Lady Gaga song
2. Forget You
3. New York

Worse (in my opinion)
1. Somebody To Love (The Queen song of course)
2. Valerie
3. Sweet Transvestite

There will be more!

Friends Clapping

I used to think that clapping to the Friends intro was lame (but then I took an arr...NO! THE JOKE IS DEAD!) but I just found out that it is actually quite common. I thought only my family was awkward (in a good way) enough to do that, but apparently lots of people do it!
Humans, I am proud of you. It's these little things in life that make me happy. The big things make me happy as well, by the bye. Gosh, by the bye sound even weirder than by the way. Anyway, here's a success-Freddie to celebrate:

-HipsterForce

Book Challenge

Oh my, how stupid. In the last post I wrote about my book challenge, while I haven't even told you what the challenge consists of. It's easy: I read a book every month (I'm not really a reader, so for me that's a lot) and blog about it in detail. This is my schedule:

January: Much Ado About Nothing - William Shakespeare
February: Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter - Seth Grahame-Smith
March: Old Possum's Book Of Practical Cats - T.S. Eliot
April: The Remains Of The Day - Kazuo Ishiguro
May: Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - Robert Louis Stevenson
June: Paper Towns - John Green
July: Big Fish: A Novel Of Mythic Proportions - Daniel Wallace

Everything after that is yet to be decided.

Things I'm Excited About For Next Year

1. Avatar: Legend Of Korra
2. I'm going to Australia
3. I'm going to Austria
4. My challenge to read books every month and blog about them
5. New, awesome films!

As I said, there will be more...

30DHPC Day Twenty-Six

If you could be able to work one spell without a wand, what would it be?

-Accio. Practical, useful and convenient. Which is all basically the same, but who cares. But how nice would it be to think: "Hmm, I'm kind of hungry, but I forgot my lunch. ACCIO LUNCH!" And then your luch just comes flying at you. Awesome.

Batman Returns Trivia

I know, I know. I spend way too much time talking about:
-Tim Burton films
-Batman
-Films in general

But I've just seen Batman Returns, and I just had to share some trivia about it.
[Source: IMDb]
SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS

-Composer Danny Elfman was one of the off-screen tomato and lettuce throwers during the Penguin's botched speech

-Danny DeVito spent two hours a day in make-up

-In Tom Mankiewicz's script for the first movie which featured the Penguin, he was described as "a tall, proper-looking, thin man".

-According to the book 'Movie Magic' by Robin Cross, Penguin's army consisted of real penguins, actors in glass fiber suits, animatronic puppets controlled by puppeteers, and computer animation. A technique called flocking was used where several penguins would imitate a master penguin, allowing control over large numbers.

-The final Christmas ball scene is quite symbolic: since it is a masque party all the guests are in disguise. The only two exceptions are Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. This implies that their real personalities are Batman and Catwoman respectively, and that their public appearance without a costume is just a disguise for the society.

TV Shows I Used To Watch

I had almost forgotten about these gems!

1. Courage The Cowardly Dog
2. The Powerpuff Girls
3. Sabrina The Teenage Witch
4. The Amanda Show
5. Dexter's Laboratory
6. Lizzie McGuire
7. Totally Spies!
8. Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy
9. Bear In The Big Blue House (Wow that is really long ago...)

Oh, the nostalgia...sniff...

Happy Feet Two Review

IMDb Rating: 5.8
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 41%
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Elijah Wood, P!nk, Robin Williams, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Hugo Weaving
Genre: Animation, Musical, Comedy

I must say I'm surprised by these negative reviews. To be honest, Happy Feet Two is one of the best animation movies I've ever seen. Sure, the story isn't all that (though it is still way better than most animation movie stories), but this movie was great in songs, jokes and it looked awesome. I can definitely recommend it.

SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS

The penguin Mumble from the first movie is all grown up now and has a kid of his own. He gets in all sorts of trouble, but knows how to get out of them as well. Meanwhile, a krill decides that he doesn't want to end up at the bottom of the food chain and takes his slightly hesitant friend with him to be free. Also, a LOT of music. You can't even call it covered, more re-imagined, in a good way.

Tiny Tim

A friend of my told that there was a Spongebob song that was sung by Tiny Tim. Now, I didn't know anything about Tiny Tim, ecxept that people think that he looks like Tim Burton. I looked up the song (Living In The Sunlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF4RCOcz9ow ) and I read the comments. I was surprised to find that there was almost no nice comment to be found. Sure, expected that a lot of people would comment on his high-pitched voice, but they also thought the song itself was terrifying.

Another Unpopular Opinion

I hate the Disney classics. The stories are predictable, they give the wrong view on how relationships should work and the songs are rhyme-forced. Also, it's kind of funny how almost all Disney princesses are Caucasian. Even Tiana (The Princess And The Frog) and Mulan (Mulan...Obviously) that should be afro-american and Chinese respectively have a slight Caucasian appearance. Mulan more than Tiana, though.

-HipsterForce

Unpopular Opinions

These are my unpopular opinions. If you don't agree with me and want to convince me that my opinion is wrong, respond nicely and we can dicuss as adults. I like discussions, but not internet style.

1. I don't like bananas.
2. I prefer Matt Smith as the Doctor over David Tennant.
3. I think people who are skinny to the bone are as beautiful as normal sized people. I wouldn't recommend it though, since that means you're almost dying. It doesn't mean that I think people who are not skinny are not beautiful. I know a lot of people who are normal sized or downright obese, who are some of the most beautiful people I just don't get how being skinny can be called ugly.
4. I like people with weird teeth or weird eyes. They have something endearing over them.
5. I don't like Lady Gaga.

Please don't be too harsh to me :(

-HipsterForce

30DHPC Day Twenty-Three

Any part of the books/movies that made you cry?

30DHPC Day Twenty-Two

Harry Potter or Twilight?

(This shouldn't be too hard to guess, since I'm doing a Harry Potter Challenge, not a Twilight Challenge)

-Harry Potter, definitely. A few reasons:
1. If you look at the actual story, nothing really happens in the Twilight series. There is a lot of build up to a climax in every book, and everytime the climax is avoided in some weird way. In New Moon and Breaking Dawn Stephenie Meyer built up to big fights with the Volturi, which ultimately didn't happen. At all.
In the Harry Potter series they have an ingenious and climactic "battle" at the end of every book.

2. J.K. Rowling got Bellatrix killed by Molly Weasley to show that love for the family always triumphs over obsessive. Ironicly enough, this obsessive love is the exact same kind of love Bella Swan feels for Edward.

3. The HP movies have better (and British) actors. Although it's not really fair that I say this, since the only Twilight movie I've seen is the first one, and I only saw the first part. After that I got bored.

4. Edward takes all the scary stuff out of being a vampire. People think vampires are cool because they are dangerous, though you can't tell by their looks. Edward is as scary as Fluttershy.

(I kind of rephrased the question, because it was written rubbishly. And yes, rubbishly is now a word)

-I could make this easy for myself and just say Bellatrix because she is my favourite character, but that would be stupid.
I think that I would bring back Tonks, because she has a son. It's also Remus' son of course, but I don't really think that the baby would have needed Remus, 'cause he never fights for something. Tonks would have been the best mother ever.

Love Actually Review

IMDb Rating: 7.8
Rotten Romatoes Rating: 63%
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Alan Rickman, Richard Curtis, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Keira Knightly, Bill Nighy, Colin Firth, Rowan Atkinson
Genre: Romantic comedy

I LOVE THIS MOVIE. There is absolutely no reason why this is rated lower than an 8 (or 80%) on both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb. It's funny, the actors are awesome, the story is credible in contrast to most American or Dutch romantic comedies.
Definitely one of my favourites.

The story follows a few people in London, a few weeks before Christmas. They are all related to each other (friends, siblings, colleagues, etc.) and they all have problems with love. The story is too complicated to type out, I suggest you just watch it and enjoy.

Are you excited about The Deathly Hallows movie or scared it won’t do the book justice?

(Since I have already seen the movie, I will tell you my thoughts about it.)

-I was a bit disappointed that they chose to make it an action movie instead of explaining the story (What happened to Dumbledore's sistah?). I also thought the special effects were a tad bit cheap (since when does one explode when one is Avada Kedavra'd? -Referring to Bellatrix's death). Nevertheless, the actors were great as usual, the costumes were beautiful and overall it's just an amazing story.

Useless Trivia Part Two

1. Tom Felton, the boy/man who is Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, had never read the books when he was cast as Draco.

2. There used to be a public toilet in London, where you could look to the street from inside the cabin, but you couldn't look into the cabin from the outside.

3. There was an artist who made a purse of her cat. She received death threats from people who thought it was cruel to do that to your cat. Irony?

4. The fruit kiwi was named after the bird, not vice versa.

5. Wednesday, February and colonel are some of the most annoying words, since you either pronounce it with a letter that you don't write (Curr-nul, while there is no "r" in colonel) or you don't pronounce a letter that IS in the word (Wensday, though it's WeDnesday). This is really annoying if you're still learning English. I speak from experience.

Quotes Yet To Be Typographied

In addition to my last post, these quotes are definitely worthy of being typographied:

1. Come what may
2. You remain my power, my pleasure, my pain
3. Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
4. Am I bovvered?
5. EXTERMINATE. ANNIHILATE. DESTROY.
6. Shall we sing about it again?
7. Well, if that's love, it comes at much to high a cost

Suggestions anyone?

Beetlejuice Review

IMDb Rating: 7.3
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 81%
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Alec Baldwin, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara
Genre: Fantasy, Comedy

I liked this movie, because it's one of the most absurd and crazy movies I've ever seen. The story itself isn't really all that interesting (although it is wildly original), but all the special effects (prosthetic make-up, green screens, stop-motion etc.) make it look like a B- list movie with A-list actors. And who doesn't love B-list movies with A-list actors?

SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS

The story is about a married couple that dies in a car crash. They turn into ghosts and are required to stay in their house for a long time (I forgot how long. SHAME ON ME!). A new family moves into their home and of course, it's not a really nice family. Mom is an "artist" that makes horrible sculptures, dad doesn't care about his daughter. The only one that is actually sane is the girl, Lydia. She hates her family and does everything to get away from them. The ghosts try to scare away the family, releasing a "bio-exorcist" called Betelgeuse (pronounced Beetlejuice, hence the title) in their attempts.
Betelgeuse terrorises the family and almost marries Lydia. The ghosts gets rid of Betelgeuse just in time and befriend the family.

_______
Adam: What are your qualifications?
Betelgeuse: Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I'm qualified?_______

30DHPC Day Thirteen

Least fave movie?

-Four. I have a few reasons for this:
1. None of my favourite characters (Luna, Bellatrix, Tonks, Remus, Umbridge, Xenofilius etc.) were in it.

2. Dumbledore was VERY angry all the time.

3. There was less tension than in the other movies.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a great movie, just less fun to watch than the rest.

Best Lines From The Eleventh Hour

Yesterday I watched The Eleventh Hour (the first episode with Matt Smith as the Doctor in Doctor Who) again, and I felt I just had to write down a few amazing quotes.

SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS

Young Amy: Are you okay?
The Doctor: Just had a fall. All the way down there, right to the library. Hell of a climb back up.
Young Amy: You're soaking wet.
The Doctor: I was in the swimming pool.
Young Amy: You said you were in the library.
The Doctor: So was the swimming pool.

Young Amy: What is it? What's wrong with you?
The Doctor: Wrong with me? It's not my fault, why can't you give me any decent food! You're Scottish, fry something!

[Amy begins cooking]
The Doctor: Ahh! Bacon!
[the Doctor eats the bacon, then promptly spits it out]
The Doctor: That's bacon! Are you trying to poison me?
[Amy begins cooking again]
The Doctor: Beans!
[the Doctor eats the fried beans, and promptly spits them out]
The Doctor: Beans are evil. Bad bad beans.
[Amy butters a slice of plain bread]
The Doctor: Bread and butter! Now you're talking.
[the Doctor runs outside and flings the bread and butter out]
The Doctor: And stay out!

The Doctor: Do I just have a face that nobody listens to? Again.

The Doctor: [Realising he is actually 12 years late] Why did you say six months?
Amy Pond: He's coming.
The Doctor: This matters. This is important. Why did you say six months?
Amy Pond: [Revealing her Scottish accent] WHY DID YOU SAY FIVE MINUTES?

Amy Pond: Twelve years, and four psychiatrists!
The Doctor: Four?
Amy Pond: I kept biting them!
The Doctor: Why?
Amy Pond: They said you weren't real.

Amy Pond: You're worse than my aunt!
The Doctor: I'm the Doctor, I'm worse than everybody's aunt!

The Doctor: No TARDIS, no screwdriver, two minutes to spare... Who da man?
[blank stares from Prisoner Zero, Rory, and Amy]
The Doctor: Alright, I'm never saying that again, fine!

The Doctor: C'mon, then! The Doctor will see you now!
Atraxi: [after scanning The Doctor] You are not of this world.
The Doctor: No but I've put a lot work into it.
Atraxi: Is this world important?
The Doctor: Important? What's that mean, important? Six billion people live here, is that important? Here's a better question: is this world a threat to the Atraxi? Oh come on, you're monitoring the whole planet! Is this world a threat?
Atraxi: [after looking at a montage of world events] No.
The Doctor: Are the peoples of this world guilty of any crime by the laws of the Atraxi?
Atraxi: [after viewing another montage about earth] No.
The Doctor: Okay. One more, just one: is this world protected?
[as the Atraxi views a montage of all the aliens who have attacked humanity in some way]
The Doctor: You're not the first to have come here. Oh, there have been so many. And what you've got to ask is, what happened to them?
[Atraxi looks at a montage of the past ten Doctors. The Doctor steps through the montage when the 10th Doctor is shown]
The Doctor: Hello. I'm the Doctor. Basically. Run.

[seeing his new TARDIS for the first time]
The Doctor: Look at you. Oh, you sexy thing, look at you!

The Doctor: Amy Pond, there's something you'd better understand about me cause it's important, and one day your life may depend on it: I am definitely a mad man with a box!

So far this is my favourite episode.

Useless Trivia

Our brain was made to learn these facts:

1. Michael Keaton's real name is Michael Douglas.

2. If one were to get the body of a member of the Winx Club (a Nickelodeon series), that person would have to remove a few vital organs, a few ribs and they would be infertile.

3. Pigeons can recognise the faces of humans.

4. Nicole Kidman has,in addition to her having a supporting role in Batman Forever, been in a movie with at least one of the actors in every other Batman series: She worked with Michael Keaton (in My Life) from the Burton series, with Clooney (in The Peacemaker) from Batman & Robin, and with Aaron Eckhart (in Rabbit Hole) from the Nolan series.

5. There is a hidden alien in every single South Park episode.

Batman Review

IMDb Rating: 7.6/10
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 71%
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Michael Gough, Tim Burton
Genre: Superhero, action, fantasy

Of all superheroes ever to roam the face of popular culture, Batman is by far my favourite. It's very important that a movie about him does justice to what he is. Batman (1989)does succeed at doing that, though only to some extent. The action is exhilarating, the characters are gripping and when Keaton first identifies himself as Batman, the sensation is simply bone-chilling. The story is a primal but thought-through Batman vs. Joker battle. The latter, brilliantly performed by Jack Nicholson, gives a whole new demension to the ancient character. However, I do feel the need to note that the plot doesn't spend much time on the inner tempers of either of the main characters. Bruce Wayne's pain and Batman being his way of coping are barely visible. Joker is often left unexplained, but in this interpretation a bit more motive than an urge for attention would give him more depth.

SPOILERSPOILERSSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSSPOILERBITCe!

The plot in Batman mainly concerns Batman. It starts with the legendary shooting of his parents, this time not by Joe Chill, but a for now unknown mobster. Then the current situation in Gotham City is shown. Crime and injustice rule the streets and gang lord Grissom holds the throne. However, due to recent efforts by the authority, he could be pinned to a crooked chemicals manufactor. He sends his over-ambitious right-hand, Jack Napier, to destroy the evidence. The job turns out to be a set-up, and Napier ends up in a vat of toxic chemicals. After a botched surgery, he reappears as the villain we've all come to fear and love. He proceeds to wreak havoc and extract his revenge on all he believes have wronged him in a crusade for recognition. It's up to Batman to thwart his schemes to disfigure all of Gotham's denizens to his image. Batman finds out Joker is the crook who shot his parents years ago. Joker in turn learns of Batman's interest in the reporter, Vicki Vale, and takes her hostage in a bell tower, where he intends to marry her. Batman takes the bait and in the ensuing battle, Napier is unfortunately killed. Hahahahahahahahaha.

-Hmmm, tough one. Harry is obviously the most boring person because you know almost everything about him. Ron is just always being plain stupid and all the other male characters have next to no influence on the story. I guess I don't have a least favourite male character. The only male characters that are really cool are Voldemort, Lupin, Neville and Kingsley Shacklebolt.

TV Show Stuff

Pick your top 5 shows and answer the following questions. Don’t cheat.

1. Doctor Who
2. My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
3. Brainiac
4. Glee (shame, shame...)
5. Spongebob

(Not a list that will make me popular, but hey, at least I'm honest)

1. Who is your favorite character in 2?

-Definitely Fluttershy, she's so cute.

2. Who is your least favorite character in 1?

-Don't really know. I think River Song. Not because I don't like the character, but because for an outsider like me it's really complicated to understand her story.

3. What’s your favourite episode of 4?:

-The Lady Gaga Episode. I didn't really like the songs, because Lady Gaga isn't really my style, but I loved the weird outfits.

4. What is your favorite season of 5?

-The first few. The later ones were getting unoriginal.

5. What’s your favorite relationship in 3?:

-The relationship between aluminium and ironoxide. It makes thermite, which melts through almost everything!

6. Who is your anti relationship in 2?:

-Seriously? My Little Pony doesn't have relationships.

7. How long have you watched 1?:

-I've seen about six complete episodes so far and four half. Working on it though.

8. How did you become interested in 3?:

-It was on when I was having breakfast, and I just loved the British humour mixed with Ig Nobel Prize style science.

9. Who is your favorite actor in 4?:

-Chris Colfer. His voice is brilliant and Kurt is a great character.

10. Which show do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?:

-Definitely 1.

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?

-Three, but I remember the Doctor Who episodes better.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?:

-Kurt, because he has the best voice.

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 1?:

-By throwing her (Donna) into Bellatrix. The star Bellatrix that is.

14. Would a 3/4 crossover work?:

-No. I'm sorry, but British humour is way too delicate to be touched by people other than Brits. Sigh. Sometimes I hate being Dutch.

15. Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple:

-The Eleventh Doctor and Donna.

16. Over all, which show has a better cast, 3 or 5?:

-3.

17. Which has better theme music, 2 or 4?:

-Definitely a tie.

What house would you want to be in?

-I'd love to be in Ravenclaw, because I like the idea of intellect triumphing over brute force and cynicism (A not very subtle reference to the Doctor Who opening on the Late Late Show). I think it would also suit me best, because I would rather call myself smart than call myself brave, sneaky or a "hard worker" (everybody knows that Hufflepuff is for people who are actually squibs, but their parents just pay Hogwarts a lot of money.).
The only thing that bothers me is that my favourite character, Bellatrix, was in Slytherin. Slytherin seems to have given us a variety of people whose minds are screwed up in the weirdest ways. So I'd like to be in Slytherin as well. But Ravenclaw has the best motto: Wit beyond measure's a man's greatest treasure.

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Review

Too bad nobody likes this movie, it's really awesome...

IMDb Rating: 6.6
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 60% rated fresh
Notable Cast/Crewmembers: Zooey Deschanel, Bill Nighy, Warwick Davis, Alan Rickman, Helen Mirren Stephen Fry and a cameo from Kelly McDonald.
Genre: Sci-fi, adventure, comedy

I thought it was a pretty funny movie, not only because it's an adaption of the awesome book, but also the way people and objects were presented. Everything had an atmosphere of weirdness and surrealness around it, like at any moment the director could yell 'cut' and the actors would climb out of the suits.
The only flaw it has, is that it's not a direct adaption of the novel. I was slightly disappointed at this, because I really liked the book. Still, the cast makes up for it by being just plain awesome.

This review, I will not plot the story for you, because it is really weird and I saw it three weeks ago, so it has kid of sunk away in my brain.

30DHPC Day Three

Day 3: Is there any of the films adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book.

-Yes. I was perfectly furious that they didn't tell anything about Ariana or Grindelwalt in the last film. For me, it was an important part of the book series because it made Dumbledore more real, instead of him just being an over-protective, all-mighty, wise person.

My Ultimate Pokémon Team

You know that I'm bored when I start talking about Pokémon teams. This team is mostly based on the cuteness of Pokémon:

1. Chikorita. So cute, and the first Pokémon I knew by name, I think.
2. Suicune. Beautiful and powerful.
3. Shaymin. SO MOFO-ING CUTE.
4. Mudkip. Because ebberybody lieks mudkips.
5. Articuno. He is like Nyan Cat, except he farts ice-glittery stuff.
6. Rick Astley. [RICK ASTLEY used SING!]

Day 30: What affect has Harry Potter made on your life and how much does it mean to you

I've literally copied this from a website, any mistakes in the questions are not mine.
So, because today is the first day I will answer the first question:
Your fave book?
-Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. I've read the other ones at least five times each, so they've started to become boring to me. This one, I have only read twice, once in Dutch and once in English, so it's fairly new to me.
