In The Netherlands we have this thing called the Top 2000. It's a list consisting of 2000 songs, and in November people can vote on their all-time favourite song. That means that it's not new songs or pop songs, but there is a lot of classic rock, jazz and rock 'n roll. In December, from noon on Christmas day until midnight on New Year's Eve, they play that whole list.
Almost everybody listens to it, partly because it's chock-full of awesome music and because it's some sort of tradition.
Also, the top three is almost always the same:
3. Avonden - Boudewijn de Groot (A Dutch artist, that's why he has a weird name)
2. Hotel California - The Eagles
1. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
The numbers two and three can shift sometimes, but it is really uncommon that Queen isn't number one.
