Nice for children, but I think it's a bit overrated.

Woody, a toy cowboy, is his owner Andy's favourite toy. At least, until Andy's birthday comes round and he gets the new Buzz Lightyear toy. Buzz soon becomes the most popular among the other toys and is also Andy's favourite. Woody feels rejected and tries...OK, I'm going to stop the summary here. Who am I kidding, EVERYBODY knows what this movie is about. On to my opinion.

As I said, I think it's a bit overrated. Not because I think it's bad as a movie, au contraire. It was revolutionairy because of the animation, and I think that is the only reason you need to see this movie. Unfortunately, the majority of yaysayers go on about the story, which I don't think was very original. It is a nice idea, living toys, but in my opinion it didn't work out the way it could've. They use a lot of deus ex machinas (dei ex machinae? I don't know) and there are very few jokes. It is overly moralistic, which is annoying when you're watching, because it seems like you're getting a lecture all the time. However, for kids this is a nice and sometimes scary story to watch. I would recommend it.
