Though it was different than I had expected, I very much liked this movie because it's just so simple.
______
A celebrity's ex-wife has a nervous breakdown, which forces the actor into taking care of his eleven-year old daughter. He finds out that he was never really there for her.

I liked it because it has no explicit moral. It's just a story somebody's life, which is my favourite type of story. The first shots (a race car racing past five times) and an awkward stripper act show just how lonely his life is. Some may say that it's "the whining of the wealthy" but I think (and I'm on very thin ice here) that they missed the point completely. I think it's not about how bad the life of celebrities are, but how easy it is to lose yourself in material wealth. This same story could apply to a drug addict or a workaholic or, in fact, Sofia Coppola's own life. Now, of course I don't know a lot of her personal life, but I can imagine that if your father is Francis Ford Motherfucking Coppola, he can't spend a lot of time with you (which doesn't mean that if your father is NOT Francis Ford Coppola, he CAN spen time with you).

Ron the Masseur: Did they not tell you how I work? You see I have a website that explains my technique. I feel that if my client's naked, it's just more comfortable if I meet them at the same level.
