I liked it, though I don't think it's as great as everyone thinks it is.
___________
Hugo Cabret lives in a train station in Paris, France. His father died in a fire (we don't really hear what happened to his mother, but I suppose she died.) and he was adopted by his alcoholic uncle, who repairs clocks in the station. He teaches Hugo how to repair clocks before leaving him. Hugo starts repairing an automaton that his father gave to him before he died. He finds out that it belongs to the station's toy shop holder, who was once a filmmaker.

I loved the movie, because it was visually beautiful. It sits somewhere between a fairy tale and real life and the 3D really adds something to the movie.
However, I don't think it was that great as a story. Chloë Grace Moretz' character was downright annoying and because she had to play in a accent that is not her own, she wasn't as convincing as she could have been.

Lisette: Don't forget to smile.
Station Inspector: Which one? I've mastered three!
